Kachanov holds Ph.D. from Novosibirsk Conservatory & post-doctoral studies at Moscow Conservatory. He is the founder of the Russian Chamber Chorus of New York (RCCNY) whose recording of the Tchaikovsky's Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom was chosen by New York Times as number four of the top ten classical CDs of 2001. Kachanov released his compositions in two CD recordings: The Call & Benevolence.
